Lindley Academy Charter School at Birney is committed to ensuring that all students experiencing homelessness have the opportunity to succeed in school consistent with the Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) program, which is an initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Education

Based on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act, some of the main objectives of ECYEH and Lindley Academy include increasing awareness about the needs of homeless students, assisting them to overcome possible educational barriers, and to provide support to students and their families.
